Hosted Proxy Service
NC LIVE has launched a Hosted Proxy service, available to all our libraries as a benefit of being an NC LIVE member. This service provides an easy way for patrons to remotely access all of a library's licensed content, both resources provided by NC LIVE and those licensed locally. This service may be especially useful for libraries that have had difficulty implementing a locally-hosted proxy service. More information
As part of the six-year agreement with ProQuest, NC LIVE member libraries will have access to their own instance of Summon. Summon is a discovery service that pulls together all of your library’s collections – including electronic content licensed by NC LIVE, electronic content you license on your own, as well as all of the physical collections represented in your library catalog – into one set of search results. NC LIVE is offering a LibGuides-based web template for North Carolina libraries that features an easy-to-use interface, customization, and contemporary, attractive design. More information
Carolina Cooperative Library Services
Carolina Cooperative Library Services (CCLS) was a cooperative purchasing service available to all libraries in North Carolina and South Carolina. CCLS saved libraries time and money by negotiating exclusive bulk discounts on the e-resources and software that libraries already purchased.
Open Education North Carolina
Open Education North Carolina is an initiative that aims to reduce the cost of higher education for North Carolina students by providing free, open e-textbooks for 30 of the most frequently-taught courses across North Carolina’s colleges and universities. More information
Resource Spotlight Program
The Resource Spotlight program shined a light on select e-resources through free, 3-month trials. NC LIVE libraries (and their patrons) could try out these resources with no obligation. Libraries that chose to subscribe to a spotlighted resource received an exclusive discount.
NC LIVE Website Update - 2017
The NC LIVE website has not undergone a significant upgrade in several years. The NC LIVE community has expressed an interest in improving the site's functionality and appearance. A technology upgrade of its Drupal software is also due. More information
